Creating the Perfect Soundtrack for Your Wedding Ceremony

Setting the Tone from the Very First Moment

When your guests begin to arrive for your wedding ceremony, there's a beautiful sense of excitement in the air, mixed with quiet anticipation. Family and friends from different chapters of your lives come together, many meeting for the very first time, all eagerly awaiting the moment your ceremony begins and celebrating the start of your next chapter together.

I always believe this is the perfect opportunity to gently set the tone for the day ahead. Soft, stripped-back versions of songs that are meaningful to you as a couple can create an atmosphere that feels warm, personal and effortlessly romantic while your guests settle into their seats and you both prepare to make your way down the aisle.

Guiding the Flow of the Ceremony

The flow of your wedding ceremony is something every couple naturally thinks about. From the moment your guests arrive to the moment you walk back down the aisle together as newlyweds, each part of the ceremony should feel seamless, relaxed and beautifully considered.

The wonderful thing is that this isn't something you'll need to worry about on the day. It's the role of your wedding suppliers, alongside your priest or celebrant, to quietly take care of every detail behind the scenes, allowing you to be fully present in each moment.

Creating Emotional Impact

Live music has a unique ability to connect with people on a deeper level. A ceremony singer brings emotion into the space in a way that recorded music simply cannot. Whether it is a powerful vocal during the walk down the aisle or a heartfelt performance during a symbolic ritual, these moments often become the ones guests remember most. The right singer knows how to read the room and deliver each song with sensitivity and meaning.

Personalising Your Ceremony

As your wedding singer, my role extends far beyond simply performing. I'll guide you through choosing music that feels authentic to you both, creating a soundtrack that tells your story and complements each moment of your ceremony beautifully. I'll also liaise directly with your priest or celebrant to ensure everything flows naturally, so every entrance, reading, reflection and meaningful moment is accompanied by music that feels perfectly placed.

More Than Just Music

For me, ceremony music has never been just about singing the songs you love. It's about creating a feeling.

The right music has a way of bringing everyone into the moment. It fills the quiet before you walk down the aisle, adds emotion to the vows you've waited a lifetime to say, and gives your guests those little goosebump moments they'll still be talking about long after your wedding day.

When couples look back on their ceremony, they often remember how they felt just as much as what happened. Music has an incredible way of holding those emotions and turning them into memories that last a lifetime.

Choosing your ceremony singer isn't simply about finding someone with a beautiful voice. It's about finding someone who understands the significance of each moment, takes the time to get to know you as a couple, and creates a soundtrack that feels uniquely yours.

It's a privilege I never take for granted, and one of the greatest joys of what I do is knowing I've played a small part in one of the most meaningful moments of your lives.

Your wedding music should feel like you. With a Bachelor of Music and years of experience as a vocal coach, I craft bespoke set lists that reflect your style and bring your vision to life, through beautifully personal live performances.

Morning of Tara & Danny’s wedding! Final prep being done both in the car and at the church.

All week while I had been practicing leading up, I had had a cold. Thankfully that left but Mother Nature had other ideas 🤪

Changes to hormones, periods, sickness etc can all play with the makeup of your voice. Both men & women so while you may have practiced and prepared one way sometimes you do have to go another way just because our bodies at the end of the day are the total boss!

I’m not going to tag ye along much more the full song will be up tomorrow at 10am.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this wee series 💛

Why the magic key change? ✨ From my time of pract Why the magic key change? ✨

From my time of practicing this song, my brain (lol me) was still building up to the high notes thinking they were higher then they actually are.
Quite common with singers and maybe possibly brass/wind musicians too.

Anyways I tricked myself so much I gave myself a key change, classic Westlife move which I’m sure if they had ever covered this song they would include!

Part 3 on the way Friday 🎤

It may take a wee while for it to truly set into your voice, you mind, body… You get the idea!

As a vocal coach and singer, I have my way of learning songs that work for my voice that may not work for you. I am not giving any advice here just a wee glimpse into how I sometimes prepare a song.

This will be a small 3 part series on how I have prepared this song - Power of Love sung by Celiene Dion.

Enjoy, See you Wednesday for part 2 ✨
